This is my final improved masthead.
I chose the colour red in this masthead as this is a common colour associated with mainstream magazines such as my intended genre. The combination of red and white i chose as it is eye catching and the five white lines in the background are to simulate the lines on a score of music. A simple "MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE" under the abbreviated version once again makes it appear as a music magazine to the intended reader from a distance, which is how mast heads work.
